Over the past few years Virtual Reality Media,
a. s., has been intensely involved in developing
new simulation technologies and solutions
for Mi-17 medium-range multi-use helicopters.
The programme has encompassed
a whole range of helicopter flight simulators
to facilitate operational flight procedures
training, including the Mi-17 CPT (Cockpit
Procedure Trainer), the basic flight simulator
Mi-17 FTD (Flight Training Device), and
the comprehensive flight simulator Mi-17
FFS/FMS (Full Flight Simulator / Full Mission
Simulator). These solutions represent the
most successful and best-selling series of
products by Virtual Reality Media, a. s. Over
the given period the company has systematically
and intensely cooperated with its
U.S. partners and operated throughout the
African continent, Central and Southeast
Asia, and Latin America – all these markets
are now within the company’s reach.
Virtual Reality Media, a. s., recorded a tremendous
success when it became a subcontractor
for supplying simulation technologies
to the U.S. Army PEO STRI (Program
Executive Office for Simulation, Training &
Instrumentation). As part of the U.S. Army
PEO STRI program, Virtual Reality Media, a.
s., and its respective partners supplied, via
the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, an
Mi-17 CT (Counter Terrorism) simulator to
Iraq, where it was installed in 2011. Among
the partners of Virtual Reality Media, a. s.,
are the U.S. companies Fidelity Technologies
Corporation (FTC), based in Reading,
Pennsylvania, and Aeronautical Systems
Engineering (ASE), based in Odessa, Florida.
Moreover, Virtual Reality Media and ASE set
up SYNERCO, a joint venture, headquartered
in Switzerland. Geared towards development,
production and sales of advanced
simulation technologies, the new company
is just beginning its existence and launching
operation these days.
Based on the existing contracts with the
U.S. Army PEO STRI, Virtual Reality Media
experts and specialists will develop and
deliver simulators for Mi-17-type helicopters
and simulators for the C-27A (G-222)
medium cargo airplane loadmaster trainer
for the Afghanistan Air Force. In designing
the C-27A (G-222) loadmaster trainer,
Virtual Reality Media, a. s., is closely cooperating
with Letecké opravovne Trenčín, a. s.
(LOTN), aircraft repair plant, whose experts
are making adjustments to the entire C-27A
(G-222) fuselages.
SIMULAČNÉ TECHNOLÓGIE / SIMULATION TECHNOLOGY
The simulation technologies developed and
delivered by the joint stock company Virtual
Reality Media, a. s., are compliant with the
European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)
certification specifications up to the level of
type specific flight simulators. The company
has passed through the certification process
in compliance with the EASA regulations.
The company’s management is branching
out in several directions. Among the top
priorities is to continue with the further
development of Mi-8/Mi-17/Mi-171 flight
simulators, to work on simulators for fixed
wing aircraft, and to diversify its portfolio by
incorporating simulators for a wide range of
land-based systems.
