8.5 Java 2 security
The earlier Java implementations, prior to Java V1.2, only had the sandbox
model, which provided a very restricted environment. With Java V1.2, a new
security model has been introduced.
For more information refer to the official Java Sun site at
http://java.sun.com/security/index.html, or the Java 2 Platform Security
Architecture V1.0 paper from Sun.
Figure 8-5 depicts the new security model for Java V1.2.
