Custom User Registry<br />

10.4.1 LocalOS<br />

To configure <strong>WebSphere</strong> to use the local Operating System’s registry, open the<br />

Admin Console and select <strong>Security</strong> -> User Registries -> Local OS.<br />

1. Enter a user name and password. This is the identity under which the request<br />

is sent to the registry. The LocalOS registry requires an identity for a user that<br />

has administrative capabilities, as defined by the LocalOS registry.<br />

2. Click OK. (it should not be necessary to set any custom properties for the<br />

LocalOS registry).<br />

3. If there are no errors at this stage, select <strong>Security</strong> -> Global <strong>Security</strong>.<br />

Ensure that the Active User Registry option is set to LocalOS and that Global<br />

<strong>Security</strong> is enabled. If this is not the case, make the necessary changes and<br />

then click OK.<br />

4. The changes will need to be saved and <strong>WebSphere</strong> restarted.<br />

10.4.2 LDAP<br />

To define <strong>WebSphere</strong>’s LDAP configuration, perform the following steps:<br />
