9. Click Save and Close at the top of the server document.<br />

10.You should restart your server in order for the changes to take effect.<br />

After your server restarts, you can verify whether the LDAP server is listening on<br />

port 636. After issuing the command sh ta at the server console a message<br />

appears, similar to the following one.<br />

Look for the line on the console:<br />

LDAP Server Listen for connect requests on TCP Port:389 SSL Port:636<br />

This line will tell you that the LDAP server is running and listens on the<br />

non-secure and on the secure port.<br />

Configuring <strong>WebSphere</strong> to use SSL<br />

<strong>WebSphere</strong> Application Server has to have the LDAP server certificate in order<br />

to participate in the SSL connection. For this reason, you have to import the<br />

LDAP server’s SSL certificate into <strong>WebSphere</strong>’s server trust file.<br />
