1. In the Admin Console, select <strong>Security</strong> -> User Registries -> LDAP.<br />

2. Provide the details for the fields in the Configuration panel as listed below.<br />

Server Id: this is the <strong>WebSphere</strong> administrator ID. Here we use<br />

cn=wasadmin,o=itso as the administrator ID.<br />

Server Password: this is the <strong>WebSphere</strong> administrator password. Specify<br />

your password, the same password that is in the LDAP registry.<br />

Type: this is the type of LDAP server. Here we are using <strong>IBM</strong> SecureWay<br />

Directory, so select SecureWay from the drop-down list provided.<br />

Host: specify the hostname of the LDAP server host name.<br />

Port: this is the port number LDAP server is running on, by default it is 389.<br />

Base DN: specify the base DN of your LDAP configuration. In our case we<br />

set the Base DN to o=itso.<br />

Bind DN: this is the distinguished name for the application server to use to<br />

bind to the LDAP server. In our case it is cn=root.<br />

Bind Password: this is the password for the application server to use to bind<br />

to the LDAP server. In our case it is password.<br />

Reuse Connection: generally, this should be selected. In rare situations,<br />

when you use a router to spray the requests to multiple LDAP servers and<br />

this router does not support affinity, we disable this checkbox.<br />
