Migrating adults and juveniles are expected to use the lower White Salmon River for thermal refuge. Sockeye salmon are the Oncorhynchus species most vulnerable to elevated water temperatures and are most dependent on thermal refuge sites along their migratory corridors for survival. Snake River Spring/Summer-Run Chinook Salmon Although the ESA listing status came under review, the listing as threatened was retained in the final listing. Migrating adults and juveniles are expected to use the lower White Salmon River for thermal refuge.
