4. Do not share personal items such as towels or razors.<br />

These recommendations are consistent with those put forth by the Centers for Disease Control and<br />

INTRAMURAL SPORTS<br />

The purpose of the CSU Intramural Program under the direction of the Office <strong>Student</strong> Activities; is to<br />

organize and promote athletic competition among students, with emphasis on sportsmanship. The goals<br />

of the program are to create structure leisure time, develop and improve social and athletic skills, enhance<br />

the overall educational experience, and to promote citizenship and sportsmanship among students.<br />

The Intramural Program provides organized team sports for students who enjoy a structured approach to<br />

recreation, and athletics. Sports may include basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball. Open Gym<br />

hours are only provided when student activities supervision is provided. A valid <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

identification card is required for access into these facilities.<br />

Scheduled hours for open gym are tentative. Intramural sports are set for 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.,<br />

Monday thru Thursday.<br />

J. MILLARD TAWES CENTER<br />

The Tawes Center is located directly in the heart of the campus. The Center is not only the focal point,<br />

but is the campus center for students, faculty, staff and alumni.<br />

The Center houses several important offices/lounges which include: The Center for Counseling and<br />

<strong>Student</strong> Development, the Office of Career Services, the <strong>Student</strong> Life Center, the Office of Community<br />

Standards, Office of <strong>Student</strong> Activities, <strong>Student</strong> Senate Office, Fireside Lounge, Quiet Lounge, Snack<br />

Area, Subway, Executive Conference Room, Campus Information and Visitors Services, Bookstore,<br />

Leisure Activity Center and the Ball Room.<br />

LIBRARY (Parlett Longworth Moore)<br />

Parlett Longworth Moore Library supports the instructional program and provides an environment<br />

conducive to general intellectual enrichment and continued learning. The library provides space for<br />

classrooms, meetings, visual exhibits, special programs and receptions, and offices. The library has over<br />

40 public workstations to allow access to the Internet and various other networked resources along with<br />

two smart classrooms. In addition there are two open computer laboratories with over 50 workstations.<br />

Parlett L. Moore Library is a member of the Library Information Management System (LIMS) of the<br />

<strong>University</strong> System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI), a collaborative effort that permits<br />
