STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES<br />

<strong>Student</strong> Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded retention and graduation program that serves eligible<br />

and enrolled students who want to make the most of their education while attending <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong><br />

<strong>University</strong>. The (SSS) Program offers guidance, coaching, encouragement, and a variety of academic and<br />

support services throughout the academic year and through a summer enrichment program.<br />

The mission of <strong>Student</strong> Support Services (SSS) is to maximize educational opportunities for low-income,<br />

first generation, and disabled students through direct services that encourage retention through the higher<br />

education pipeline. To accomplish its mission, <strong>Student</strong> Support Services (SSS) provides opportunities for<br />

academic development; assists first year students with basic college requirements and GER completion;<br />

and serves to motivate program participants towards the successful completion of their post-secondary<br />

education.<br />

Ultimately, the goal of the SSS program is to help students reach their goal of attaining a post-secondary<br />

education and to graduate from a degree program at <strong>Coppin</strong>. Specific services provided by the program<br />

include: academic and financial aid coaching and advising, free tutoring, career exploration, planning, and<br />

counseling, educational planning sessions, academic and personal coaching, course planning and<br />

registration, information workshops, and cultural enrichment activities.<br />

The <strong>Student</strong> Support Services Program is located in the Percy Julian Science Building, 1 st Floor. The<br />

hours of operation are Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. For additional information call (410)<br />

STUDENT TRANSPORTATION - BUS SERVICE<br />

The MTA <strong>University</strong> Pass Program is offered to all full time undergraduate students. The program<br />

provides a monthly commute savings up to $39.00 per month. A current semester validated <strong>University</strong><br />

ID is required for purchase. MTA monthly passes can be purchased in the Business Office (Cashier’s<br />

Office) located in the Miles W. Connor Administration Building, 2 nd floor. For more information on bus<br />

service, MTA schedules are available at the Information Service Center located in the Tawes Center, 1st<br />

floor, or in the Residence Halls (front desk area).<br />
