About the Community Standards Violation Process <strong>Guide</strong><br />
As a student who is pursuing charges or being charged with alleged violation(s) of community standards,<br />
you may have a number of questions about <strong>Coppin</strong>'s community standards violation process. There are<br />
several administrators on campus who are available to meet with you to walk you through the process but<br />
if you are not sure about who to contact, Coordinator of Community Standards would be your ideal<br />
starting point.<br />
This resource is intended to be a reference guide for you to turn to as you navigate through these<br />
processes. We hope that you gain greater insight about our philosophy of community standards as well as<br />
an in-depth look at our procedures. If you have any ideas about how to improve this resource or if you<br />

The foundation of <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong>’s standards, policies and regulations was designed with one or more of<br />
the following purposes: to promote and protect the rights of members, or visitors to the community; to<br />
promote and protect the health and safety of members or visitors to the community; to promote and<br />
protect the academic integrity of the community; and to promote the respect of and protection of the<br />
property of the community members and <strong>University</strong>.<br />
The Community Standards Violation Process<br />
As members of the university community, <strong>Coppin</strong> students are expected to respect the rights of all<br />
students, faculty and staff and adhere to the policies outlined in the <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Guide</strong>, <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong>.<br />
If a student has observed a violation of university policy, or feels that his/her rights have been violated in<br />
some way, he/she should file a report with a Resident Assistant, the <strong>Student</strong> Life Center, Office of the<br />
Vice President for <strong>Student</strong> Affairs or Campus Police.<br />
