PART-TIME STATUS<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s taking less than twelve (12) credit hours are part-time. Graduate students who carry less than<br />

nine (9) credits are also considered part-time.<br />

PARKING AND VEHICHLE REGISTRATION<br />

PARKING RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />

All students must have a permit to park on <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> campus. Violators will be<br />

issued citations and/or your vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense!<br />

PROCEDURES<br />

Please be advised that all students need to register for parking in the Parking and Transportation Services<br />

Department located in the Dining Hall Room 132, if they plan to park on <strong>Coppin</strong>'s campus. In order to do<br />

so, you must pay the current semester’s registration fee at the Cashier’s Office in the Miles Connor<br />

Administration Building, 2 nd floor. After payment the receipt must be submitted to the Parking and<br />

Transportation Services Department, to obtain the parking permit. RESIDENCE HALL FRESHMEN OR<br />

FIRST YEAR TRANSFER STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED PARKING PRIVILEGES. Please<br />

provide Parking and Transportation Services Department with vehicle information such as: make, model,<br />

style, year, tag number, as well as the policy number and policy expiration date.<br />

Please understand that parking spaces are very limited to students. Parking is also available on Lot CX at<br />

the rear of the Health and Human Service Building for students only.<br />

HOW TO AVOID A PARKING VIOLATION<br />

All vehicles MUST display a valid <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> permit to park on campus.<br />

Visitor Parking: Spaces are designated for visitors. If your visitor(s) is unfamiliar with the campus, you<br />

should refer him/her to coppin.edu/pts or contact the Parking and Transportation Services Department at<br />

410-951-3556. Visitor’s having business with a specific department should contact that department to<br />

make parking arrangements.<br />

1. Commuter parking is available on Lots CS (HHSB) and Lot H (PEC) ONLY!<br />

2. Parking illegally in a restricted area, under any condition, is a parking violation.<br />

3. Disabled parking spaces and transfer areas: These spaces are first come first serve in on Lots B,<br />

C, and F. Lots A and D are restricted to permit holders only. Information must be for the<br />

registered driver. Vehicles registered in Maryland will be reported to the MVA.<br />

4. Fines: The purpose of this section is to avoid fines. Drivers are not permitted to park vehicles in<br />

fire lanes at any time. If you stop your vehicle to load or unload, or for any other reason, a<br />

licensed driver must remain with the vehicle at all times and must be able to move the vehicle<br />

upon request. (Fire lanes are towing away zones). Parking on curbs painted red or yellow is<br />

prohibited.<br />

5. Non-Designated Spaces: All vehicles must be parked between two white/yellow lines. Areas in<br />

which drivers cannot park include, but are not restricted to the following: (1) crosswalks--marked<br />
