Records Office. Failure to properly withdraw from courses will result in “F” grades appearing on the<br />

student’s transcript. Please not the last day to withdraw from a course is listed in the schedule booklet on<br />

the web.<br />

WITHDRAWAL FROM THE UNIVERSITY<br />

A student withdrawing from the <strong>University</strong> must:<br />

1. Complete the officially <strong>University</strong> withdrawal form available in the Record’s Office.<br />

2. Obtain the signatures from representative from the following offices: the Center for Counseling<br />

and <strong>Student</strong> Development, Financial Aid, Housing and Residence Life, Public Safety, Library,<br />

Business Office, Veterans Affairs (located in the Office of Records) and Records and<br />

Registration.<br />

3. Return the completed form to the Record’s Office by the official deadline.<br />

A student failing to comply with this process will receive grades of “F” instead of “W” in all courses.<br />

II.<br />

Community Standards<br />

<strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> is a community of diverse members committed to maintaining an environment<br />

that encourages personal and intellectual growth that promote our traditions of excellence, leadership,<br />

civic responsibility, learning, dedication, commitment to quality and commitment to each other. We are a<br />

community with high standards and high expectations for those who choose to become members,<br />

including established community standards intended to foster behavior that is consistent with a civil and<br />

educational setting.<br />

It is the responsibility of each community member to become familiar with the standards and expectations<br />

of the <strong>Coppin</strong> family. In general, each member should:<br />

• Respect the rights of others<br />

• Respect the property of individuals, groups and <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

• Know, understand and abide by all <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> community standards, policies and<br />

regulations, as well as all local, state and federal laws.<br />

• Engage in behavior that does not interfere with individual, group or <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

regular activities and/or operation<br />

• Ensure that guests behave in a manner consistent with and in accordance with the expectations of<br />

our community<br />

The foundation of <strong>Coppin</strong> <strong>State</strong>’s standards, policies and regulations was designed with one or more of<br />

the following purposes: to promote and protect the rights of members, or visitors to the community; to<br />

promote and protect the health and safety of members or visitors to the community; to promote and<br />

protect the academic integrity of the community; and to promote the respect of and protection of the<br />

property of the community members and <strong>University</strong>.<br />

The Community Standards Violation Process<br />

As members of the <strong>University</strong> community, <strong>Coppin</strong> students are expected to respect the rights of all<br />

students, faculty and staff and adhere to the policies outlined in the <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Guide</strong>, <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong>.<br />

If a student has observed a violation of <strong>University</strong> policy, or feels that his/her rights have been violated in<br />

some way, he/she should file a report with a Resident Assistant, the <strong>Student</strong> Life Center, and Office of the<br />
