Section 8. Committee on Clubs and Organizations<br />
The Committee on Clubs and Organizations will assist the Director of <strong>Student</strong> Activities in establishing<br />
criteria for the formation and continuance of all undergraduate organizations.<br />
Section 9. The Rules Committee<br />
The Rules Committee shall have the authority to clarify and recommend policies on matters of<br />
interpretation of this Constitution; to define procedures, rules, and guidelines involving the business of<br />
the Senate, subject to the approval of the Senate; and to preside over impeachment hearings. The<br />
membership of the Rules Committee shall be as follows: two Senators from the School of Arts and<br />
Sciences, two Senators from the School of Education, two from the School of Nursing, and the remaining<br />
six members from the general Senate.<br />
ARTICLE VI - Compensation of Officers<br />
Section 1. The Executive Officers<br />
The Executive Officers of the Senate, in order to better fulfill the responsibilities of their offices, shall<br />
receive compensation in the form of stipends without regard to any other aid or scholarship which they<br />
are due.<br />
A. The President shall receive a sum equal to the cost of tuition for fall and spring semesters<br />
exclusive of fees and payable to their <strong>University</strong> account in two (2) equal installments by the end<br />
of the first month of each semester.<br />
B. The Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary shall receive a sum equal to one semester's tuition<br />
exclusive of fees in two equal installments by the end of the first month of the fall and spring<br />
semester.<br />
C. The President and Vice President shall receive a sum of three hundred dollars per semester in<br />
bookstore credit, to assist in purchasing their books for that semester, payable to their account by<br />
the end of the first month of each semester.<br />
D. The Treasurer and Secretary shall receive a sum of two hundred dollars per semester in bookstore<br />
credit, to assist in purchasing their books for that semester payable to their account by the end of<br />
the first month of each semester.<br />
ARTICLE VII - Subsidy Award to <strong>Student</strong> Organizations<br />
Section 1. Subsidy Award<br />
A. The amount of subsidy awarded shall be computed on a prorated basis which shall be determined<br />
from the date the recognition application was received by the Director of <strong>Student</strong> Activities.<br />
Subsidy awards are granted based upon the date on which they are received, e.g., an organization<br />
submits a recognition application to the Director on the first week of November 6, which entitled<br />
that organization to receive a $75.00 subsidy award; however, if that same organization did not<br />
submit its organization recognition application until ten days later, on November 16, that<br />
organization would be entitled to a maximum subsidy of $62.00. (See chart below).<br />
Organizations must be recognized by the Director of <strong>Student</strong> Activities Office before being<br />
considered for Senate funding.<br />
