signs, kiosks and other public information.
Regulation Signs: Signs that communicate laws and
regulations to the public, such as traffic signs, disabled
parking signs, “no parking” signs and signs for other
areas that restrict public access/circulation.
Public Amenities: Special amenities/environmental
art that enhance the aesthetics and celebrate the unique
character of the ARTIC Mixed-Use District. Public
amenities could include public art, banners, project
medallions in the pavement, etc., located in pedestrianheavy
areas. Environmental graphic color palettes
should be bold, vibrant and energetic to reflect the
urban, distinctive character of the development.
General signage provisions for the ARTIC Mixed-Use
District include the following:

Signage for individual development should have its own
identity while responding to the overall character of the
district.

Wayfinding shall be designed in a clear and consistent
way that eliminates visual clutter and confusion, and
facilitates movement and traffic flow.
Signage and wayfinding design should be innovative
and imaginative, and contribute to a positive street
appearance.
Sign size and quantity must be compatible with the scale
of the development.
Wall signs shall be compatible in sign size and quantity
with the dimensions of the wall on which the sign is to
be installed.
Signs should be designed so that they are integrated
with the building design.
Colors of the signs should contribute to legibility and
design integrity.
Signs should be constructed of high quality materials
that are compatible with the design of the facade on
which they are placed.
