Strive to eliminate glare and visibility <strong>of</strong> pole mounted<br />
light fixtures on the exposed upper decks <strong>of</strong> parking<br />
structures by employing full cut-<strong>of</strong>f fixtures and minimizing<br />
pole heights. Lights shall be limited to 16 feet in height<br />
and shall be located between internal parking rows<br />
rather than at the structure’s perimeter.<br />
The exterior design <strong>of</strong> a parking structure should<br />
minimize its visual identity as parking by disrupting the<br />
monotony <strong>of</strong> its underlying structure system through wall<br />
massings and openings and through variations in colors,<br />
materials and/or textures.<br />
Facades facing public rights-<strong>of</strong>-way should incorporate<br />
a repeating pattern that includes color change, texture<br />

elements should be incorporated into the exterior<br />

ribs or <strong>of</strong>fsets, which should be no less than 12 inches<br />
in width.<br />
Proper security is an important aspect <strong>of</strong> operating a<br />
parking structure. A safe, secure environment must<br />
be provided for patrons, employees and vehicles.<br />
Adequate security measures shall be an integral part <strong>of</strong><br />
the parking structure design.<br />
