8004. MARINE CORPS JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS MEMBERS<br />

1. Members of the MCJROTC will wear the <strong>uniform</strong> and insignia according to<br />

these <strong>regulations</strong>, and as amplified by MCO P1533.6.<br />

2. All cadets, regardless of rank, will wear the 9/16-inch wide scarlet<br />

stripe on the blue trousers/slacks.<br />

3. A distinctive MCJROTC round patch will be worn on the left sleeve of all<br />

outer clothing except the service sweater and AWC. It will be centered on<br />

the outer half of the sleeve, 1/2 inch below the shoulder seam. The patch<br />

will be 3 inches in diameter and contain a gold Marine Corps emblem centered<br />

on a scarlet field, which is surrounded with a blue border containing the<br />

words "<strong>US</strong> Marine Corps Junior ROTC" in white lettering. A gold border<br />

surrounds the blue field.<br />

4. In addition to the required distinctive patch, one school patch may be<br />

worn on the right sleeve of all outer clothing, except the service sweater<br />

and AWC, centered on the outer half of the sleeve, 1/2 inch below the<br />

shoulder seam. Sample patches will be submitted to the Commanding General,<br />

Training and Education Command (46JR), Quantico, VA for approval, and if<br />

approved, will be procured at other than Marine Corps expense. Patches will<br />

be from two inches to 2-1/2 inches in length or diameter. Normally only<br />

Marine Corps or school colors will be approved for use in school patches.<br />

8005. CIVILIANS SERVING WITH MARINE CORPS UNITS<br />

1. When authorized by CMC, U.S. civilian technicians serving with the Marine<br />

Corps may wear the Marine Corps service and utility <strong>uniform</strong>s except that no<br />

distinctive grade, <strong>corps</strong> device, or other Navy or Marine Corps insignia will<br />

be worn. Plain buttons of the approximate size and color of the buttons<br />

prescribed for the Marine Corps <strong>uniform</strong>s will be worn on all coats.<br />

2. The insignia as described below will be worn on these <strong>uniform</strong>s by<br />

civilian technicians:<br />

a. Breast insignia will be worn on the left-breast pocket of all coats<br />

and khaki shirts. The breast insignia will consist of an embroidered spread<br />

eagle facing dexter with a group of tools clutched in the left claw and an<br />

olive branch in the right claw. The lettering "U.S. TECHNICIAN" will be<br />

centered immediately below the eagle. The insignia will be placed on a 3-1/4<br />

-inch square background material of the same color as the coat or shirt.<br />

b. Cap insignia will be worn on the garrison cap. The insignia shall be<br />

worn on the left side 2 inches from the front edge and 1-1/2 inches from the<br />

bottom edge. The garrison cap insignia shall consist of a 5/8-inch by 3/4inch<br />

gilt pin with the inscription "U.S. TECHNICIAN."<br />

c. Collar insignia will be worn on both sides of the collar of the khaki<br />

shirt and the utility coat, with the center of the insignia 1 inch from the<br />

front edge, and 1 inch from the upper edge of the collar. The collar<br />

insignia is identical to the garrison cap insignia described above.<br />
