b. Slacks will be pressed to present a smooth vertical crease at about<br />
the center front and rear of each leg. The crease will extend from the<br />
bottom of the hem to about 2 inches above the crotch.<br />
2. Service Slacks. Slacks may be worn as part of the service "A," "B," or<br />
"C" <strong>uniform</strong>. Wearing the service slacks as a working <strong>uniform</strong> is at the<br />
individual's option. On specific occasions that require <strong>uniform</strong>ity (i.e.,<br />
formations, ceremonies, inspections, parades, social events), commanders at<br />
their discretion may direct either that the skirt or slacks be worn. Slacks<br />
are authorized for wear on leave/liberty.<br />
3. Blue Dress Slacks<br />
a. When the blue dress <strong>uniform</strong> is prescribed, commanders may prescribe<br />
females to wear blue dress slacks as part of all blue dress <strong>uniform</strong>s when<br />
specific occasions require <strong>uniform</strong>ity, as discussed in subparagraph 3026.2.<br />
On all other occasions, either the blue dress skirt or blue dress slacks may<br />
be worn at the option of the individual.<br />
b. All NCOs will wear the scarlet stripe on blue slacks according to<br />
paragraph 4009.<br />
c. Officers' dress blue slacks will have a 1-1/2 inch wide scarlet stripe<br />
down the outer seam of each leg.<br />
4. Blue-White Dress Slacks. At commands where the blue-white dress <strong>uniform</strong><br />
is required, commanders may prescribe the wear of either the white skirt or<br />
white slacks for enlisted if they have been provided by the command via<br />
organizational issue or supplemental allowance. For SNCOs whose commands do<br />
not provide blue-white dress slacks via organizational clothing or<br />
supplemental allowance, either the blue-white dress skirt or blue-white dress<br />
slacks may be worn at the option of the individual.<br />
3029. SOCKS/HOSE<br />
1. Black dress socks, as issued by the supply system or sold in MCSSs, will<br />
be plain and without ornamental stitching, and when worn with boots, will<br />
serve as the liner sock underneath the cushion sole sock. Calf-length, black<br />
socks of plain design as sold through the Marine Corps exchanges, may be worn<br />
as an optional <strong>uniform</strong> item and may be used to satisfy minimum requirements.<br />
2. Males will wear black dress socks with all service and dress <strong>uniform</strong>s.<br />
Females may wear black socks when slacks are worn.<br />
> CH 1 3. Coyote brown cushion socks will be standard as issued green<br />
cushion and black cushion sole socks may continue to be worn until<br />
replacement is required.<br />
4. Females will wear full-length nylon hose with service and dress <strong>uniform</strong><br />
skirts. Dark hose or black socks will be worn with slacks per paragraph<br />
3010.<br />
