CHAPTER 7 RESOURCE MANAGEMENTTable 7-5. Description of the Name Attribute of IORM METRICCURRENTName{CG, CT, DB}_IO_BY_SEC{CG, CT, DB}_IO_LOAD{CG, CT, DB}_IO_RQ_{SM, LG}{CG, CT, DB}_IO_RQ_{SM, LG}_SEC{CG, CT, DB}_IO_WT_{SM,LG}{CG, CT, DB}_IO_WT_{SM,LG}_RQ{CG, CT, DB}_IO_UTIL_{SM, LG}DescriptionMegabytes per second scheduled for this I/O consumer.Average I/O load for this I/O consumer. The cumulative number of small or large I/O requests fromthis I/O consumer. The number of small or large I/O requests per second issuedby this I/O consumer. The cumulative time (in milliseconds) that I/O requests fromthe I/O consumer have spent waiting to be scheduled byIORM.Derived from {CG,CT,DB}_IO_WT_{SM,LG} above. It stores theaverage number of waits (in milliseconds) that I/O requestshave spent waiting to be scheduled by IORM in the pastminute. A large number of waits indicates that the I/Oworkload of this I/O consumer is exceeding its allocation. Forlower-priority consumers this may be the desired effect. Forhigh-priority consumers, it may indicate that more I/O shouldbe allocated to the resource to meet the objectives of yourorganization. The percentage of total I/O resources consumed by this I/Oconsumer.All cumulative metrics above are reset to 0 whenever cellsrv is restarted, the IORM plan is enabled, or theIORM plan changes for that I/O consumer group. For example, if the Category IORM plan is changed, the following cumulative metrics will be reset:CT_IO_RQ_SMCT_IO_RQ_LGCT_IO_WT_SMCT_IO_WT_LGThese IORM metrics are further categorized using the metricObjectName attribute. Interdatabaseresource plan metrics for the SCRATCH, and SNIFF databases are stored in detail records, wheremetricObjectName is set to the corresponding database name. In a similar fashion, metrics for CategoryIORM Plans are identified with a metricObjectName matching the Category name. IORM consumergroups are identified by a concatenation of the database name and the name of the DBRM consumer223
