CHAPTER 9 RECOVERING EXADATACELLCli> alter griddisk all inactive[enkcel03:root] /root> shutdown –h now4. Once the system is shut down you can power it off using the power button onthe front panel.5. Open the cases of both the failed cell and the replacement cell, and move thefollowing components from the old cell to the new cell:a. Flash Cache cardsb. Disk controller cardc. USB flash drived. Disk drives■ Caution: It is important that you place the first two disks in the same location on the new storage cell. These arethe system volumes that contain the Linux operating system. If you don’t, the cell may not boot. Also make sureyou install the flash cache modules in the same PCI slots as they were in the failed cell. In general it is a goodpractice to simply remove each device, one at a time, and reinstall them into the same location on the new storagecell.6. Power on the new cell.7. Log in to the new cell as root, using either the KVM or ILOM interface.8. Check the configuration files in the following directories. If they are damagedor otherwise corrupted, replace them with the backup copies you created instep 1.9. The network settings for your Ethernet devices will remain the same with theexception of the hardware address, or MAC address. Find the new MACaddresses of the network devices eth0, eth1, eth2, and eth3.
