The plug-in installation is out of the scope ofthis book, but it’s well documented in the plug-in’s installation guide.Currently the Exadata Storage Server monitoring plug-in gives only some basic metrics to monitorand is not very sophisticated for systematic cell performance troubleshooting or monitoring.Nevertheless, it will give you a more convenient way for monitoring cell statistics changing over time, compared to running CellCLI’s list metrichistory commands manually. When you initially navigate toa storage cell target (or group of cells) in Grid Control, you may not see any charts defined there yet. InFigure 12-10, we have created a group called “cells” from the Exadata Storage Server targets andnavigated to the Edit Group page. This is where you can add new charts for collected cell-level metrics.396
