CHAPTER 7HISTORIC PRESERVATIONWheatland has a rich historic heritage, and many significant historic buildings, events, and artifactsreflect its past. Downtown Wheatland in particular includes over twenty-five historically-significantbuildings. The General Plan sets the framework for a comprehensive program to foster historicpreservation efforts in Wheatland through a systematic program, community education, andcoordination within the City and with historic preservation groups.GOALS, POLICIES, AND IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAMSThis chapter contains goals, policies, and implementation programs that establish the framework forthe preservation of Wheatland’s historic resources. The goals and policies of this chapter areorganized topically according to the following categories.
