SCOPESCOPEThis document describes the physical and functional characteristics of the Small Computer SystemInterface (SCSI) for the LaserDrive (LD) 6100, the LaserFile (LF) 6600 RapidChanger and the LF 6602RapidChanger. The specification is provided for users, system integrators and managers of informationsystems.NOTEThe word "LaserDrive", as used in this document, refers to theLD 6100, LF 6600 and the LF 6602. If a feature applies specifically tothe LD 6100, LF 6600 or LF 6602, then the appropriate model numberis used.The LD 6100 is a single-cartridge optical disk drive; the LF 6600 RapidChanger is an optical disk drive withan integral six-cartridge shuttle; the LF 6602 consists of two LF 6600 drives enclosed in a cabinet.The LaserDrive is a write once, read many times (WORM) device used for long-term storage of data. Ithas a user storage capacity of 12 GBytes per double-sided cartridge. Comprehensive error correction andrecovery capabilities are incorporated for maintaining data integrity.
