Refer to page 38, Micro-Climates and ZoneScheduling Groups.biCoder MenuThis is the first step is programming theBaseStation 3200 controller – assigning valvebiCoders to zone numbers. In order to activate avalve, the valve biCoder that is attached to the valve solenoid must be assigned a zone number.Then activating the valve is easily done by turning on the zone, either manually or by a programstart.Page 64Baseline 3200
C h a p t e r 5 – R e f e r e n c eThe after the first valve biCoders have beenconnected to the two-wire, a Search operation isdone to inventory each of the two-wire devices –the valve biCoders will then be available in a listto assign to their corresponding zone numbers. Asearch operation is done by highlighting the firstmenu item in the biCoder menu dial position andpressing the ENTR key when search is selected(see sample screen shot).To assign a valve biCoder to a zone, use the + or –keys to select the desired valve biCoder serialnumber in the left selection box and then use theNEXT/PREV keys to select the desired zone number. Onceboth values have been selected, press the ENTR key tomake the assignment – the controller will power up thetwo-wire and write the zone number to the valve biCoder,and do a quick test of the solenoid. This solenoid status isdisplayed in the last column. A summary of possiblestatus codes is listed to the right.Master valves and pump start biCoders are also assignedin this same dial position. Select MV1 to MV4 for the zonenumber during the assignment process.AUXOK – solenoid current isacceptableOP – solenoid is “open”SC – solenoid is shortedER – unable to communicatewith biCoder If there is a Flow + NOMV device, assign it first in the Flow Menu dialposition, then use remaining free MV locations for other master valves orpumps. To remove a two-wire device, you must physically diconnect it from thetwo-wire and then perform a Search operation from the device specificmenu. This means a biSensor can only be removed by doing a search fromthe biSensor menu, etc..There are many functions and operations that areaccessed from the AUX dial position. Select thedesired function from the top level menu andthen press ENTR to display the specific screen you desire. The CLR key will return you to the toplevel menu.
