Evans (alternate leads).Starts on Jack's Rake at a cairn about 50 yards left <strong>of</strong> Gwynne'sChimney.(1) 40 feet. Up the obvious break for about 25 feet, then a slabtrending slightly left to a stance below a very thin steep crack.(2) 45 feet. Move up to the thin crack, then round the corner onthe right on a grassy gangway to the foot <strong>of</strong> a short shallowsquare-cut chimney, which is climbed to a thread belay atthe top.(3) 45 feet. Step onto the rib on the left, <strong>and</strong> climb it to the top.(4) 40 feet. Up the short steep walls <strong>and</strong> ledges to the top.STALAY 205 feet. Very severe. First ascent 19thSeptember, 1959. J. A. Austin, R. B. Evans.(1)1(2) y 110 feet. First three pitches <strong>of</strong> Troll's Corner.(3)J(4) 20 feet. Traverse right along a sharp-edged flake until acomfortable stance is reached behind it.(5) 25 feet. Move right for a few feet, then pull up onto a smallledge with a doubtful spike. Climb a short slab to a sittingstance <strong>and</strong> floor belay.(6) 30 feet. Climb the thin steep slab on the left until it is possibleto step round the corner <strong>and</strong> gain the small balcony above.Step left <strong>and</strong> climb the overhang direct to a good belay <strong>and</strong>a pile <strong>of</strong> blocks.(7) 20 feet. Swing round the rib on the left <strong>and</strong> up to the top.GOLDEN SLIPPER 200 feet. Very severe. First ascent 1958.J. A. Austin, R. B. Evans. Starts 20 yards left<strong>of</strong> Gwynne's Chimney at a small gangway slanting up right fromJack's Rake.(1) 60 feet. Up the gangway, <strong>and</strong> gain a grass ledge. Climb thewall to a small juniper <strong>and</strong> continue up to a grass ledge withtwo small flake belays, at the foot <strong>of</strong> a long steepening slab.(2) 80 feet. Climb the slab until a series <strong>of</strong> holds lead to the ribon the right; then up to a large ledge.(3) 60 feet. Up the slab <strong>and</strong> rib on the left.WHITE GHYLLMoss WALL140 feet. Very severe. First ascent 8th August,1959. G.O., D. Laws. Starts at the samepoint as Slip Not.(1) 40 feet. Easy scrambling up a groove slanting left to a grassledge <strong>and</strong> belay below a mossy wall.(2) 80 feet. An open groove on the left <strong>of</strong> the wall is climbed for20 feet to a slight overhang. Step right <strong>and</strong> traverse acrossthe line <strong>of</strong> moss to good holds on blocks. Climb the wall
