Table 6.11: RMS error for cross checking by mean wind velocity.According to the table 6.11 the best match is found in the period April-May, startingfrom data of the station 5424 at 15 meters height and predicting the windcharacteristics in station 5428 at 30 meters height, situation that corresponds to thegraph 6.8 e.Table 6.11 allows also to understand which dataset is to be used for a prediction ofthe wind in the other tower. The best dataset corresponds to station 5424 at 15meters high, as shown by the total RMS error. Considering that the 5424 tower ispositioned near a cliff this result could seem somehow peculiar. An explanation ofthis phenomenon can be related to the fact that is relatively straightforward topredict the flow at higher quotes and for non complex orography (mast 5428), evenstarting from data at low quotes and placed in critical positions as a cliff (tower5424).In general, from table 6.11 it can be seen that errors are lower in the period April-May and this could be explained by assuming that seasonal thermal effects are moreinfluent when the terrain is cooling (Nov-Dec) instead of warming up (Apr-May).112
