Thechosen parameters to build the geometrical grid and to set the solver sett<strong>in</strong>gs werechosen to reach a sufficient accuracy level without any divergence problem.The velocity vertical pr<strong>of</strong>iles were studied and the agreement between CFD andexperimental data was correct only <strong>in</strong> the dom<strong>in</strong>ant sectors where thermal effectswere reduced.Turbulence <strong>in</strong>tensity was also studied, show<strong>in</strong>g that the W<strong>in</strong>dSim codeunderestimates the experimental data and that turbulence <strong>in</strong>tensity level is strongly<strong>in</strong>fluenced by seasonal thermal effects.The cross check<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> the experimental data collected by the two mastsmeasurement was f<strong>in</strong>ally performed. The best <strong>w<strong>in</strong>d</strong> dataset <strong>in</strong> predict<strong>in</strong>g <strong>w<strong>in</strong>d</strong>experimental data was found <strong>in</strong> station 5424 at 15 meters height,The “sector <strong>in</strong>terpolation” option [4] was tested, demonstrat<strong>in</strong>g that it can behelpful <strong>in</strong> some case to f<strong>in</strong>d a better agreement between experimental and CFDdata.118
