Due to the particular boundary conditions the same volumeflow is ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed for all the vertical stations and the streaml<strong>in</strong>es rema<strong>in</strong> horizontal.2.6 RemarksFlat terra<strong>in</strong>s, like the model considered <strong>in</strong> this document, are not sensitive to the<strong>in</strong>crease <strong>of</strong> the vertical number <strong>of</strong> cells and then the default value (20 cells) seemsto be a good compromise between the goodness <strong>of</strong> the f<strong>in</strong>al results and the timetaken to run the simulation. This BC produces the effect <strong>of</strong> the shift <strong>of</strong>the free stream velocity respect to the value superimposed <strong>in</strong> the W<strong>in</strong>dSim module,but the effect <strong>of</strong> velocity deficit due to the roughness value is strongly reduced,mostly for high values <strong>of</strong> the roughness height.25
