A DC electromagnetic actuators with double E-shaped core is investigated with theproposed approach. The magnetic field model of the investigated electromagnetic actuatoris built. The heating model is created. The couple magnetic-heating problem isformulated. The finite element method is applied for modelling of electromagneticand heating processes and for determination of different characteristics as electromagneticforce, temperature distributions, coil inductance, magnetic flux density distributionsetc. Both field problems are coupled with Matlab/Simulink circuit modelinterfacing with Octave/Lua. Simulink-Octave interface is realized. Octave-Femm interfaceis made by Lua-scrip file.Method is suitable for accurate electrical drives investigations, optimization and designactivities.5.
