4.8 The East of England Regional Assembly has been asked by the government toroll forward the East of England Plan to make provision for housing growth to2031. The work on this has commenced and will continue as this <strong>Core</strong> <strong>St</strong>rategy istaken through to adoption. It may be that the housing requirements for <strong>St</strong><strong>Edmundsbury</strong> through to 2031 might increase as a result of this work, which willneed to be taken into account through a revision to the LDF.4.9 As set out in Policy CS1, the use of previously developed land should bemaximised through a sequential approach to the identification of developmentlocations in settlements. It is also important that the development of previouslydeveloped sites is balanced with the need to ensure an adequate supply ofdevelopment land to deliver the strategy.29
