A landscape/townscape appraisal will be anessential component for Concept <strong>St</strong>atements, Development Briefs andMasterplans. Area Action Plans and Site Allocations DPDs will definethose sites where this approach is required. In some cases the contentrequired for Concept <strong>St</strong>atements will be included in Area Action Plans.In Bury <strong>St</strong> Edmunds and Haverhill improvements to the environment ofstreets and spaces to secure attractive, safe and people-friendly towncentres will be a priority. Proposals for new development in the townswill be required to contribute to improving the public realm. The AreaAction Plans and the Development Management DPD will includespecific schemes and policies to support this.43
