CONVERGENCE BEHAVIOUR<br />

Typical convergence behaviour for a successful dynamic relaxation run is shown below. Under<br />

damped and over damped responses are shown for comparison<br />

The most common problem with dynamic relaxation is that the solution fails to converge. Such<br />

cases can be divided into two types:<br />

a) the solution never starts to converge<br />

b) the solution partly converges but never reaches the convergence tolerance.<br />
