Included in this amount is the contractualobligation for two helicopters at Euro 2,7 million (refer Note 15for trade in details).28 Contingent liabilities28.1 Legal disputesSouth African National Parks is currently involved in legal disputesrelating to operational matters. No signifi cant losses are expectedto arise as a result thereof.28.2 Land claimsA number of land claims have been instituted on land ownedor managed by South African National Parks. South AfricanNational Parks is supportive of the process of returning landto its disenfranchised communities. No signifi cant fi nancialobligations are currently placed on South African National Parksin consequence of this process.28.3 September 2001 fire disaster in the Kruger NationalParkOn 4 September 2001 the Kruger National Park experienceda devastating fi re in the Pretoriuskop - Napi region. These fi resled to the death of 24 persons. A judicial commission of inquirywas ordered by the President. The commission’s report hasbeen submitted to Government, but has not as yet been madepublic. To date no liability claims have been instituted againstSouth African National Parks as regarding this incident.133
