Flying to a VOR StationThe VXA-710 can indicate the deviation from the directcourse to a VOR station. Select a VOR station on your aeronautical chart andturn the DIAL selector knob (or enter the frequencydirectly with the keypad) to the frequency of the VORstation. To indicate the deviation between your current flightpath and the desired course, press the key followedby the key to change to the CDI (CourseDeviation Indicator) mode. The “COURSE DEVIATIONARROW” will appear on the display when your aircraftis off the direct course to the VOR station. When your aircraft is off course to the right, the CourseDeviation Arrow display will show bars to the left sideof the diamond (“|||”). When your aircraft is offcourse to the left, the Course Deviation Arrow displaywill show bars to the right side of the diamond(“ |||”). Correct your course until no bars appearon either side of the CDI “diamond” (only (“”) willbe visible when the heading is correct).
