38BRS (BUSINESS RADIO SERVICE) CHANNEL OPERATIONCTCSS/DCS Bell OperationDuring CTCSS Decoder or DCS Decoder operation, youmay set the <strong>VXA</strong>-<strong>710</strong> up such that a ringing “bell” soundalerts you to the fact that a call is coming in. Here is theprocedure for activating the CTCSS/DCS Bell: Set the transceiver up for CTCSS Decoder or DCSDecoder operation, as described previously. Press the key, then press the key to activatethe Menu (“SET”) mode. Rotate the DIAL selector knob to select Menu Item“2. Sound,” then press the key. Rotate the DIAL selector knob to select Sub MenuItem “2. Bell,” then press the key. Press the key again to enable adjustment of thisMenu Item. Rotate the DIAL selector knob to select “ON” (to enablethe CTCSS/DCS Bell). Press the key to save the new setting, then pressthe PTT key repetitively until the radio exits to normaloperation.When the CTCSS/DCS Bellfeature is enabled, the “ ”icon appears at the bottomcenter of the display.
