<strong>30</strong> September <strong>20</strong>11 <strong>TO</strong> <strong>00</strong>-<strong>20</strong>-<strong>14</strong>4.5.2.1 General. AFMETCAL has responsibility for management of calibration services for <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> TMDE listed asN49, N59 or N64, except for equipment requiring calibration under Depot Maintenance Activity Group (DMAG) orStock Funded programs, which shall not be serviced or funded under this process unless a reimbursement agreement hasbeen established. The PMEL shall not accept or process non-AF N49, N59 or N64 calibration workload. PMELs shallnotify their customers that <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> N49/59/64 calibration management has been centralized at AFMETCAL. To beeligible for centrally funded calibration, all items must be operational. Any requests for short cycling (or earlycalibration) more than <strong>30</strong> days prior to date due calibration must have a validreason and must be approved by AFMETCAL.4.5.2.2 N49/N59 Calibration Support. N49/59 items will be scheduled by the local PMEL through PAMS. The PMELscheduler will contact the appropriate service provider listed on the AF Portal, Metrology & Calibration, Products &Services, Customer Support, Customer Support Home, Note 49/59/64 Shipping Information. The PAMS shippingmodule will be used to log and track the item status and location. Equipment shall be shipped from the PMEL’s locationdirectly to the service provider. Prior to shipment, maintenance data shall be entered into PAMS IAW <strong>TO</strong> 33K-1-1<strong>00</strong>-1.Upon return of the calibrated N49 or N59 item, contact the responsible workload scheduler if the unit does not conform inany way or documentation is insufficient. If the item is determined to be unserviceable, the PMEL shall prepare andsubmit SF Form 368, Product Quality Deficiency Report and complete the appropriate Deficiency Report actions in thePMEL MIS. For serviceable TMDE, complete maintenance data actions in PAMS utilizing action taken codes IAW <strong>TO</strong>33K-1-1<strong>00</strong>-1.4.5.2.3 N64 Calibration Support. Calibration support for <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> TMDE may be obtained by either the owner orsupporting PMEL .a. Owners shall contact the AFPSL scheduler directly for shipping instructions.b. PMELs shall submit requests and process N64 items via the AFMETCAL N64 Tracking Software locatedon METWEB.NOTEThe PMEL may provide a limited calibration that meets customer requirementson an N64 designated item if they have the capability. Other deviations to N64support require the PMEL to submit a ‘Request to Deviate From the PublishedCalibration Determination’ form, available on the AF Portal, Metrology &Calibration, Products and Services, Customer Support, Commercial Cals,Commercial Calibration Support, Request for Authorization of CommercialCalibration Services. Forward the request to the PMEL MFM, who will in turnforward to the AFMETCAL email address indicated on the Request Form.4.5.2.3.1 N64 Shipping. Once shipping instructions are received (via the AFMETCAL N64 Tracking Software), deliverthe TMDE, a completed DD Form 1<strong>14</strong>9 and an appropriate reusable shipping container to the local Traffic Managementoffice. The DD Form 1<strong>14</strong>9 shall be completed according to AFI 24-<strong>20</strong>3, attachment 2 and AFI 21-101 to includeapplicable MAJCOM supplements. Ensure instructions are enclosed in the shipment to direct the shipping destination toreturn a signed copy of the packing slip. Mark one copy of the DD Form 1<strong>14</strong>9 "ADVANCE COPY" and send (e-mail,FAX or mail.) it to the calibration destination.4.5.2.3.2. Return from N64 Calibration. Upon return of the calibrated equipment, the PMEL shall update the status inthe AFMETCAL N64 Tracking Software to reflect receipt and upload a copy of the vendor’s calibration certificate; orowning work center (if shipped directly) shall notify the AFPSL of receipt and fax a copy of the certificate perinstructions provided by the AFPSL. The PMEL or owning work center shall also perform an incoming acceptanceinspection (conformance assessment for physical condition, safety, documentation and cleanliness). Contact the AFPSLscheduler if the unit does not conform in any way or documentation is insufficient; the AFPSL has the responsibility toensure the calibration certificates/reports meet AFMETCAL requirements.4-9
