30 September 2011 TO 00-20-14SECTION 5PREPARATION AND USE OF CALIBRATION FORMS AND LABELS5.1 TMDE CERTIFICATION STAMP (K STAMP).The K Stamp is a PMEL technician's official signature on those forms, tags, or labels described in this TO and applicablecommand directives. It shall be used only on these forms. Only PMEL technicians in officially designated TMDEcalibration laboratories are authorized to use a TMDE Certification stamp (K-stamp as described in figure 5-1). Using anelectronic version of the K stamp is authorized. The use of K stamps by PMEL technicians is mandatory on certificationlabels. The PMEL manager shall designate who will be issued stamps. Stamps shall be serially numbered to identify thetechnician or supervisor and the activity to which he or she is assigned. The K stamp shall be as illustrated in Figure 5.1.The use of a stamp with smaller or larger dimensions is optional, provided it is dimensionally proportional and does notexceed the space available on forms. All written entries on labels and forms shallbe in non-smearing permanent black or dark blue ink. Approval to use computer generated forms and labels controlled bythis section can only be obtained by AFMETCAL IAW AFI 33-360.5.2.1 Affixing Labels.(ENLARGED)NOTEAnyone having trouble with one of the following labels or forms, due to theirmanufacture, shall report it to AFMETCAL.5.2.1.1 Only authorized personnel shall affix labels.5.2.1.2 When affixing labels, do not cover TMDE identification data (part or serial number, etc). Also, do not affixlabels where they would prevent use of TMDE (e.g., covering controls or control markings).5-1
