COURSE LISTINGS 29TAP DANCE(Ages 5 and up)This class offers basic principles and techniques of Tap. Emphasis is onprecision, rhythm and musicality.PRE-BALLET(Ages 3 to 4)This fun, preparatory class will engage budding balletenthusiasts in some of the basic movements in ballet whiletraining the ear and body to move in time with the music. Instruction,activities and body movement are age-appropriate and preschool friendly.BALLET(Age 5 and up)Using the principles of classical ballet, this style of dance emphasizesplacement, support, and communication through dance–and the disciplinenecessary to achieve it. The ensembles arechosen by audition in the beginning of the fall semester. TheNutcracker Company rehearses from October to Decemberand performs for the community in December. The Honors BalletNEW!THISYEAREnsemble and the Honors Tap Ensemble rehearse from January to Mayand participate in Master Classes in Modern, African, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Tapand Ballet throughout the year and perform in the spring.
