ATTENDANCE & MAKE-UP POLICYRegular attendance is important to music and/or dance learning at <strong>Third</strong><strong>Street</strong>. As a courtesy to instructors, students are asked to call the <strong>School</strong>and leave a message for their instructor if they expect to be absent.The <strong>School</strong> may discontinue enrollment for any student with three (3)consecutive absences without notification, a pattern of absences orconsistent tardiness.Lessons missed due to teacher absence are rescheduled at the earliestdate possible. If the instructor is not able to give the lesson missed by theend of the term, the <strong>School</strong> will issue a credit to a family’s account. Due tospace and scheduling considerations, <strong>Third</strong> <strong>Street</strong> does not require instructorsto make up lessons due to student absences or cancellations. There are norefunds for lessons or classes missed due to student absence; however,lessons missed by students may be made up at the instructor’s discretion.WITHDRAWAL & REFUND POLICYIndividual/Partner Instruction:Withdrawals must be delivered to Student Support Services, in writing,by hand, USPS mail or e-mail, two weeks prior to the effective date. Verbalnotification or not attending a class is not an acceptable form of notificationof intent to withdraw. A withdrawal fee, equal to two weeks of tuition, isassessed when a student withdraws from individual/partner lessons.Refunds are issued for unused lessons beyond the withdrawal period;however, the registration fee is not refundable. Students may attendlessons during the two-week withdrawal period.GROUP Instruction (MUSIC, DANCE AND EARLY CHILDHOOD):Withdrawals must be delivered to Student Support Services, in writing, byhand, USPS mail or e-mail, two weeks prior to the effective date. Verbalnotification or not attending a class is not an acceptable form of notificationof intent to withdraw. To receive a refund, students must withdraw fromgroup instruction prior to the start of the third week of the class. Awithdrawal fee, equal to two weeks of tuition, is assessed when a studentwithdraws from group instruction. To withdraw and receive a refund forthe second half of the year, written notice to Student Support Services mustbe received by January 15 of the enrollment year.PRESCHOOL PROGRAMWritten notice of withdrawal must be received by June 15 of the enrollmentyear. After this date, parents or guardians are responsible for the full year’stuition. There are no refunds for Preschool classes. The deposit is notrefundable or transferable.STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES 47
