I6.<strong>Third</strong> <strong>Street</strong> Preschool <strong>Music</strong> Curriculum:n Orff-Based <strong>Music</strong> Instruction: All children enrolled in the <strong>Third</strong> <strong>Street</strong>Preschool attend weekly, 45-minute Orff-based music and movementclasses. The Orff approach is a way of teaching children about musicthat engages the mind and body through a mixture of singing, dancing,acting and the use of percussion instruments. Lessons are presentedwith an element of “play,” helping children learn at their own level ofunderstanding.
PRESCHOOL 37n Bilingual Birdies (Spanish): Children in the Two’s and Three’s Classeswill have a weekly Bilingual Birdies (Spanish) class that uses movement,music and song to develop children’s singing skills and Spanishlanguage proficiency.n Introduction to Keyboard: For four-year olds, an ageappropriateweekly instrumental class focusing on thepiano keyboard is offered in a fun and interesting way.This class is intended for exposure only.
