7.1 Designs with a single error term 87The other options and parameters of ANOVA are described in the Guide to the GenStatCommand Language, Part 2 Statistics, Section 4.1.2.You can obtain further output fromthe analysis by using the ANOVAFurther Output menu, which isobtained by clicking on the FurtherOutput button of the Analysis ofVariance menu. In Figure 7.4, we areasking to print the fitted values. Thisuses the ADISPLAY directive, whichhas options PRINT, FPROBABILITYand PSE just like those of ANOVA.The output below is generated by theeffects setting of their PRINToptions. These are the estimates ofthe parameters in the linear modelthat has been fitted:Figure 7.4y ijk = ì + n j + s k + ns jk + åijkin which the parametersn j represent the main effect of nitrogen (N),s k represent the main effect of sulphur (S), andns jk represent the interaction between nitrogen and sulphur (N.S).These all arise from the treatment model, whereas the grand mean ì and the residuals å ijkare included automatically. (For further details about linear models for factorial designssee the Guide to the GenStat Command Language, Part 2 Statistics, Section 4.1.)5 ADISPLAY [PRINT=effects]Tables of effectsVariate: yieldN effects, e.s.e. 0.0670, rep. 12N 0 180 230-0.503 0.209 0.294S effects, e.s.e. 0.0774, rep. 9S 0 10 20 40-0.276 0.051 0.063 0.162N.S effects, e.s.e. 0.1341, rep. 3N S 0 10 20 400 0.234 0.118 -0.141 -0.211180 -0.144 -0.075 0.148 0.071230 -0.090 -0.044 -0.007 0.141
