This successful practice ofintegrating people, process and technologyhas enabled TIL in providing unmatchedproduct support and customer supportsolutions.Some of the measures and strategies thatreinforce our service commitment andculture are enumerated below.Contractor CollegeFor the first time in India, TIL and Caterpillarbrought the concept of Contractor College- an opportunity for machine owners andusers in construction and mining industry.The concept and the course modules helpcustomer widen their knowledge horizonand maximize productivity and profit.The Dealer Learning ManagementSystemThese learning solutions and resourcetools have empowered and enrichedthe expertise and technical knowhowof our team TIL as per Caterpillar globalstandards-providing a single pointof access to worldwide training andperformance improvement resources.Operator Trainer CoursesOperator skill is strongly linked withincreased productivity and optimisationof machine life. In view of this, TIL alongwith Caterpillar has developed a pool ofcompetent operator trainers, certified atthe highest level to train operators of ourcustomers for all machine models. TILhas also signed an agreement with GlobalInstitute of Science & Technology (GIST),Haldia, West Bengal to train operators andtechnicians on backhoe and pay loaders.Customer Value Survey (CVS)This initiative has been taken to enhanceour efforts at being a more customercentric organisation.Despite the challenging economicconditions, we at TIL continued in our beliefthat keeping the interest of our customerson topmost priority, is the surest way forus to create value for our stakeholders.Our quest for excellence stems fromour conviction of knowing, valuing andrespecting our customers as partners andstakeholders. TIL is investingin a 5-star Component Rebuild Centre atAsansol, as per the Caterpillar standardsas well as in a Greenfield manufacturingfacility for Material Handling Solutionsdivision. These expansion plans willsignificantly augment TIL’s product portfolioand meet the future needs of the market.Increasing Rental FocusRentals and Used Equipment are animportant line of business for TIL,especially in times of constrained liquidity.TIL already has 6 Rental Stores and issteadily increasing focus in this segmentof our business through other branchoutlets. Access to quality equipment onRental eliminates capital investments,risk of equipment idling, the need forcumbersome maintenance, as wellas inventory management. TIL Rentalstores are a perfect “One Stop Shop” forConstruction Equipment & Power Systems.Collaboration with NACCO IndustriesInc – USA for Hyster range of BigForklift TrucksOur strategic tie up with NACCO is asignificant step for the Company towardsenhancing business prospects of theMaterial Handling Solutions division. Underthe partnership TIL will offer Big ForkliftTrucks, Container Handlers and ReachStackers thereby increasing our productline and reaching new customers. TheTIL - NACCO partnership bringstogether two leading companies withcomplementary strategic visions andproduct technologies further reinforced byTIL’s commitment to provide total solutionsto its customers.Strategic tie up with Astec IncThe strategic tie-up with Astec addsanother important dimension to TIL’sportfolio with a range of Crushers andScreens for mining and constructionindustry, as well as Hot Mix Asphaltplants for road building industry. Thenew indigenisation process underthe technology transfer and licensingagreement from Astec for manufacturinga range of Double Barrel Hot Mix plantswill enhance our cost competitivenessand ensure faster delivery and better valueproposition for the customers.With these initiatives TIL once againdemonstrates its commitment to continueserving the Indian Infrastructure Industry.It has done so through the most advancedtechnologies as well as a more efficientmanufacturing and service deliveryplatform, representing the next level ofgrowth trajectory for both TIL and India.
