GRANVILLE-RAHAMA STAFF CARE AWARDPurposeThe Agency recognizes one American USAID employee and one non-American USAIDemployee (or group) regardless of hiring type, who makes significant staff carecontributions during the course of their work.These contributions are above and beyond the call of duty and outside the employee’sregular work objectives or position description.These contributions take place over a sustained period of time and relate to staff careendeavors that led to visible morale improvements in an Agency Bureau/IndependentOffice or Mission, or in the Agency as a whole.EligibilityAll GS, FS, USPSC, TCN, FSN employees (both direct hires and Personal ServicesContractors), Institutional Contractor, SES, and SFS employees.Approval Steps1. Supervisor (unless nominated by the employee’s Supervisor).2. Bureau/Independent Office Heads, Mission Directors.3. Bureau/Independent Office Awards Committee (BAC).4. USAID Special Awards Committee.5. Administrator.Recognition1. Framed certificate(s) signed by the Administrator.2. $1,000 (individual) to be applied as cash or a gift. Cash to be divided among eligiblegroup members. Cash or gift may be provided for all hiring types other than USPSCsand TCPSCs and Institutional Contractors, who may only receive a certificate. *1. Presentation of certificate to an individual recipient or one member on behalf of agroup at the annual awards ceremony.[Note: Group/unit awards receive one framed certificate for presentation at the annualawards ceremony. Group members will each receive a personal (unframed) certificatein an awards cover.]29*OMB Memorandum 13-05 directs the suspension of discretionary monetary awards while sequestrationis in place. Beginning March 8, 2013 USAID will not issue monetary awards until otherwise directed.
