ADMINISTRATOR’S MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENT AWARDPurposeThis award recognizes individual employees and teams that make significantcontributions to improving the way in which the Agency designs and deliversdevelopment assistance and/or internal operations and management, which contributesto making the Agency work better and cost less.EligibilityGS, FS, FSN (both direct hires and Personal Services Contractors), SES, and SFSemployees are eligible.Approval Steps1. Supervisor (unless nominated by the employee’s Supervisor).2. Bureau/Independent Office Heads, Mission Directors.3. Bureau/Independent Office Awards Committee (BAC).4. USAID Special Awards Committee.5. Administrator.Recognition (Individual or Group)1. Framed certificate(s) signed by the Administrator.2. $1,000 cash award (individual) or divided among eligible group members.*3. Presentation of certificate to an individual recipient or one member on behalf of agroup at the annual awards ceremony.[Note: Group/unit awards receive one framed certificate for presentation at the annualawards ceremony. Group members will each receive a personal (unframed) certificatein an awards cover.]Other InformationNominations are judged based on how the employee’s contributions exceed normal jobresponsibilities and lead to a lasting benefit to Agency programs or operations.Nominations must demonstrate one or more of the following accomplishments orachievements:1. Streamlining or improving program/operations that result in tangible savings to theAgency.8*OMB Memorandum 13-05 directs the suspension of discretionary monetary awards while sequestrationis in place. Beginning March 8, 2013 USAID will not issue monetary awards until otherwise directed.
