Industry brokers will also need to mangeextended trading hours with little or no help.With Shanghai planning to launch an international board,there are concerns that international companies looking to getclose to the China market by listing their IPOs in Hong Kongwill go directly to Shanghai. However, Arculli said Hong Kongalready competes with other exchanges around the world, asa number of companies, such as Hong Kong’s HSBC, lists onother boards as well.“So I think we will be alright. It is also a different pool ofinvestors,” he said.With the renminbi not being fully convertible, and capitalcontrol bans on foreign investors from trading in the Mainlandmarkets, Shanghai’s international board will only be traded bymainlanders, which is very restrictive.“Traditionally, China was depended on exports, butthey decided to diversify its economy and develop thedomestic market. For SMEs, the mentality needs tochange from being 100% dependent on the exportmarket. The Chinese consumer market in MainlandChina is very good.
