To find out what newdevelopments are being crafted in the complex,the Chamber organized a visit for 30 membersto Cyberport on December 2.Led by Industry and Technology CommitteeChairman Edmond Yue, members learned thatdigital entertainment is one of the main technologiesbeing developed. Cyberport’s CEO HermanLam said that Hong Kong is one of threecities in the world that can broadcast live events– such as Wimbledon FIFA World Cup – in 3Dvia a digital cinema exchange platform.Members also visited IBM, a tenant inCyberport, which has made Hong Kong one ofits 11 Cloud Labs globally, to take advantage ofIT talent here and the geographical proximityto China.碼 港 為 一 個 雲 集 科 技 與 數 碼 內 容 業 務 租 戶 的 創 意 數 碼 社 區 , 設 有 頂 尖 的 資 訊 及 通 訊數 科 技 設 施 。 為 了 解 這 個 綜 合 社 區 的 最 新 發 展 , 總 商 會 於 12 月 2 日 與 30 位 會 員 到 數 碼港 進 行 實 地 考 察 。工 業 及 科 技 委 員 會 主 席 余 國 賢 率 領 是 次 考 察 團 , 讓 會 員 認 識 到 數 碼 娛 樂 是 現 正 開 發 的其 中 一 項 主 要 科 技 。 數 碼 港 行 政 總 裁 林 向 陽 表 示 , 香 港 是 全 球 三 個 城 市 之 一 , 可 以 透 過數 碼 電 影 院 交 換 平 台 , 以 3D 形 式 現 場 直 播 溫 布 頓 網 球 公 開 賽 及 世 界 盃 等 活 動 。會 員 亦 參 觀 了 數 碼 港 租 戶 IBM, 該 公 司 在 香 港 設 立 了 雲 端 運 算 實 驗 室 , 使 之 成 為 全 球11 個 雲 端 運 算 實 驗 室 之 一 , 從 而 利 用 本 港 的 資 訊 科 技 人 才 和 毗 鄰 中 國 的 地 理 優 勢 。62 January 2012 The Bulletin 工 商 月 刊
