بيوگرافي دكتر هانس كارلDr. Hans KarleAs the President of WFME, Dr. Hans Karle plays aninternationally significant role in medical education. Hiscareer as an academician and medical educationist beganthirty years ago, when he was appointed in the University ofCopenhagen as lecturer in internal medicine andhaematology. In 1976, Dr. Karle was appointed Censor inMedicine for Danish universities and in 1977, Chairman ofDanish Board of Medical Specialties. In 1979, he became amember of the European Commission’s advisory committeeon medical training and was its president from 1994 to 1997.He was also the president of the Nordic Federation forMedical Education from 1988 to 1996. In 1996, he wasappointed President of World Federation of MedicalEducation (WFME), which strives for universal standards inmedical education.In spite of his extensive work on medical education, Dr.Karle remains very much a clinician and a haematologist, andcontinues as the chief physician and consultant of theDepartment of Haematology at Hvidovre Hospital ofCopenhagen University. He has published a great deal on onhaematology (including a textbook), internal medicine andmedical education.
