The gimbalangle indicator unit receives linear signals from thecontrol servomechanism azimuth and elevationgimbal potentiometers. These potentiometersreceive inputs from the gimbals in thereceiver-converter. The potentiometers thengenerate synthetic video signals. The signalspresent short, bright-line segments along thecalibrated scales on the video indicator to showreceiver head position. An example of this is shownin figure 6-18.The sync generator module contains acrystal-controlled clock. The module generates alltiming (sync), clamping, and drive signals for thereceiver-converter and the TV camera.
