The feedthrough capacitor differs fromthe capacitor with leads in that the feedthroughcapacitor type forms a part of both the circuit beingfiltered and the shield used to isolate the filteredsource. Lead length has been reduced to zero. Thecenter conductor of the feedthrough capacitor mustcarry all the current of the filtered source and musthave an adequate current rating to ensure against dcloss or power frequency insertion loss.
