If you use this table, along with theexamples given in figure 3-20, you will get an idea ofwhat the pulse trains will look like for the variouscodes. Figure 3-21 shows the interrogation and replypulse train characteristics.Mode 4 reply pulse video characteristics aredetermined by the computer. The reply is framed bytwo pulses spaced 23 (±0.05) microseconds apart. Inmodes 1, 2, and 3/A, the presence or absence ofinformation pulses at predetermined spacings isdetermined by the settings on the transponder controlbox. In mode C, this information is determined by theFigure 3-20.-Information pulse train examples.3-18
