If you do, parts on your vehicle canbreak, or it can change the way your vehiclehandles. These could cause you to lose control.Also, overloading can shorten the life ofyour vehicle.The other label is the Certification Label, found on therear edge of the driver’s door. It tells you the grossweight capacity of your vehicle, called the GVWR(Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). The GVWR includesthe weight of the vehicle, all occupants, fuel and cargo.Never exceed the GVWR for your vehicle, or theGross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) for either thefront or rear axle.And, if you do have a heavy load, you should spread itout. Don’t carry more than 176 lbs. (80 kg) in your trunk.I NOTICE:Your warranty does not cover parts orcomponents that fail because of overloading., If you put things inside your vehicle -- like suitcases,tools, packages, or anything else -- they will go as fastas the vehicle goes. If you have to stop or turn quickly,or if there is a crash, they’ll keep going.4-29
