2. Remove the air intake hose that snaps over thethrottle body by pulling the hose upward and awayfrom the throttle body. After detaching the hosefrom the throttle body, then pull back the entirerear portion of the air cleaner by pulling upwardand rearward.3. Replace the air filter.4. Reinstall the rear section of the air cleaner.5. Reattach the air intake hose.Refer to the Maintenance Schedule to determine when toreplace the air filter.See “Scheduled Maintenance Services” in the Index.6-18
1Supercharger OilOperati--; the engine with the air cleaner off cancause you or others to be burned. The air cleanernot only cleans the air, it stops flame if the enginebackfires. If it isn’t there, and the enginebackfires, you could be burned. Don’t drive withit off, and be careful working on the engine withthe air cleaner off.Unless you aretechnically qualifiedand have the propertools, you should letyour dealer or aqualified servicecenter perform thismaintenance.NOTICE:If the air cleaner is off, a backfire can cause adamaging engine fire. And, dirt can easily getinto your engine, which will damage it.
